This guide is the starting point for Subaru WRX/STI open-source tuning with RomRaider and EcuFlash. The full walkthrough (cables, definitions, Learning View, and the logging spreadsheet) will live here.
What you will set up
- A Windows laptop and a compatible Tactrix OpenPort (or equivalent) cable
- EcuFlash for reading and writing the ECU
- RomRaider for editing maps and logging
- Logger definitions and a Learning View workflow so closed-loop trims are visible
First pass
- Confirm the car and ECU are supported before buying hardware.
- Read the stock ROM with EcuFlash and archive it.
- Open the ROM in RomRaider with matching definitions.
- Log, review Learning View, and iterate. Do not chase timing with a wideband alone.
Read ROM → Archive stock → Edit in RomRaider → Flash → Log → Repeat
